Lazesoft Recovery Suite V4.2 has been released

After almost two years development and one year Beta testing, the Lazesoft Recovery Suite V4.2 RC has been released.

Recovery Suite 4.2 Home Screen shot

Recovery Suite 4.2 Home Screen shot

Lazesoft Recovery Suite V4.2 Beta was posting online on March 19, 2016. As the drive image file has been changed to support the incremental image backup and differential image backup, we used one year to do the beta testing and make sure the modified drive image file format is stable.

During the Beta testing, we got many feedbacks and suggestions from your best users and customers. With their helps and the efforts of our RD team, several bugs have been fixed and the quality of the product has been improved. Thank you, our best users and customers.

Because of the free upgrades of Windows 10 in last year, there is more than 25% Market Share on the desktop operating system market. As the requests of more and more users, we added the options to create the Windows 10 32bit or 64bit PE boot disk.

Microsoft Windows Disk Management console has limitation to create FAT32 volume larger than 32GB. Nowadays, 64GB and 128GB USB flash disk, memory card are more and more common to be seen. For the large volume on the USB or external disk, Microsoft recommends use the EXFAT file system. To support the data recovery on these drives, EXFAT file system data recovery is added on the data recovery module of the Lazesoft Recovery Suite.

A lots of customers reports they need to recover the Windows product to reinstall the Windows, but the hard disk is crashed. The Windows product key cannot be read from the Windows registry file. To solve this problem, we added the ability to read the Windows product key from the BIOS even the hard disk and Windows operating system is crashed.

4K and 5K monitor has been produced and used by desktop users. But, for some notebooks, the screen resolution still can be 1280×800. It is a big challenge to support variety of screen resolutions on the WinPE boot disk. So, the option to set screen resolution in the boot disk is developed.

New features, Fixed Issues and Improvements for version Lazesoft Recovery Suite V4.2:

Create a Windows 10 32bit or 64bit PE boot disk

Recover data from the EXFAT file system

Recover Windows 8/8.1/10 OEM product key from BIOS even the Windows boot volume is crashed

Add Network Interface Card Drivers in the boot disk

Support Incremental image backup

Options to set screen resolution in the boot disk

Options to encrypt the backup image with different options

Command line interface (only for the paid versions)

Minor bug fixes

Lazesoft Wiping Disk/Drives Algorithms

Wiping Algorithms of Lazesoft Recovery Suite

How does wiping perform

Introduction

“Deletion is not secure. When a file is deleted, only the file name and file entry is marked deleted. This mark tells the system the file has been deleted and the space is free’. In fact the data of the file remains on the disk. It may remain on the hard drive until the ‘free space’ is overwritten. Formatting is also not secure. When a partition is formatted, only the file file allocation table, bitmap, boot sectors, and some file system reserved area are overwritten. The file directory table and file data maybe still remains on the disk. The files deleted or in the formatted partition can be recovered by data recovery software.” This is the reason, why the Wipe feature is required.

About the wipe algorithms

All the wipe algorithms performs the overwriting of all the sectors in the selected partition or disk, including the data area and free space.

wipe_disk_algorithms

There are several algorithms to wipe:
“Erases with one-pass zeros” – all the sectors are overwritten once with “0”;
“Erases with one-pass random characters” – all the sectors are overwritten once with random characters;
“DOD 3 passes” – all the sectors are overwritten with 0’s, then 1’s and then once with random characters.

As you know, Windows 10 will be released this month. If you are still deciding whether to upgrade to the new version, Lazesoft can help. There are so many conflicting suggestions and articles about Windows 10, and, maybe you are one of the millions confused by the information overload.

We think that the best suggestion for you is safely and temporarily trying Windows 10 on a USB disk before you upgrade it on your internal hard disk. To help you out, our new version of the Lazesoft Recovery Suite has added a helpful new function, ‘Install Windows 8/8.1/10 on USB disk’, which can help you to decide if you really want to adopt the new Windows version.

“After installing Windows 10 on USB disk, you will have a portable and full functioning Windows 10 on your USB hard disk without any changes to your data, applications or settings for your internal hard disk” said by Rex Deamon, the Product Manager for the new and improved Lazesoft Recovery Suite.

The Lazesoft Team is always trying to provide solutions for protecting and repairing user’s computers’ data and boot system. The newest function in Lazesoft Recovery Suite v4.1, is the Lazesoft BCD Doctor, for managing and repairing the BCD store/file, an important and complex component of the Windows boot manager. The BCD file is vital for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 boot processes. Problems with the BCD file can cause Windows to become unbootable. Lazesoft BCD Doctor, in Lazesoft Recovery Suite, provides the Fix/Rebuild function capable of fixing any BCD file errors in one click, even if Windows does not boot normally or has crashed. Lazesoft BCD Doctor has many easy-to-use and helpful functions, such as, adding or deleting the BCD Menu, or editing the BCD Menu.

Lazesoft Recovery Suite is the premier all-in-one recovery package, offering many useful tools. These useful functions are found in different modules of Lazesoft Recovery Suite, including Data Recovery, Password Recovery as well as Disk Image & Clone. To help users to quickly access the useful tools on the Lazesoft boot disk, a Start Menu has been added to the v4.1 version. Using the Start Menu on the Lazesoft boot disk, users can quickly launch handy tools, such as File Manager, Registry Editor and Network Setting.

To decrease the backup drive image file size and improve backup speed, the new version of Lazesoft Recovery Suite excludes/does not process the pagefile.sys, hiberfil.sys or swapfile.sys files when backing up a system disk/volume to a file.

The new version v4.1 Lazesoft Recovery Suite supports recovering/finding the Windows 8/8.1 OEM product key from both the Windows registry files and BIOS. Users can recover or extract the Windows 8/8.1 OEM product key from BIOS, even if the Windows partition or disk is formatted or wiped.

In the new version of Lazesoft Recovery Suite, you will discover that many great features have been added and improved. The new features of Lazesoft Recovery Suite 4.1 include:

Install Windows 8/8.1/10 on USB disk

Upgrade to Windows 10, or no?

Try Windows 10 on your USB hard disk using the method in the video without worrying about the current Windows system installed on the internal hard disk.
Microsoft has finally announced “Windows 10 Will Be Released July 29th 2015 as a free upgrade for users of Windows 7 or later”. You are probably eager to upgrade to Windows 10, but may be worried about upgrading, and overwriting your current Windows version.
Using the function, “Install Windows 7/8/10 on USB disk”, in “Lazesoft Recovery Suite”, you can install Windows 10 on a USB hard disk without affecting your current computer set up. With our new program version, you do not need to worry about any possible effects on your current Windows installation or the data on your internal hard disk.
This video shows how to try Windows 10 safely using new version of “Lazesoft Recovery Suite”.
Windows versions are becoming more and more portable. A true, portable, Windows version must support execution from a USB hard disk, as well as use a product key that is not located on the motherboard of the computer.
The older Windows XP cannot run after the motherboard is upgraded. It crashes when an attempt is made to boot from a USB disk. Windows 7 can support being natively boot from a VHD disk, and its boot volume can be located on a USB hard disk. But, the system volume, itself, must be found on an internal hard disk.
After an upgrade to the motherboard, Windows 7 can still work properly, if the computer’s CPU type is not changed (for example, from Intel to AMD). After cloning a Windows 7 to dissimilar hardware, however, a new license key is usually required.
Windows 8 and 10 can run from a USB hard disk, including one holding both the system and boot volumes. In addition, Windows 8, Windows 8 .1 and 10 have a new feature, “Windows to Go”, which allows an installation of Windows 8 on a USB hard disk. However, the feature, Windows to Go, is only available with the Enterprise version of Windows and on Certified Drives. For more information, you can refer to:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/enterprise/products-and-technologies/devices/windowstogo.aspx
In our attempt to make testing and upgrading to Windows 10 as easy as possible for you, the new version of “Lazesoft Recovery Suite” has a new feature, “Install Windows 7/8/10 on one USB hard disk”. The new Lazesoft option can do more things than ‘Windows to Go’. With our new feature, every version of Windows 8/10 can run successfully on USB hard disk. Certified Drives are not required. Any common USB hard disk is good enough. If you list Win 7 on the option, can a user install that version, say on an XP machine? This is not stated very clearly, and might need to be included in several places in this article.

The following is download link of the new beta version of Lazesoft Recovery Suite Home Edition, which allows you to use the new feature, Install Windows 8/8.1/10 on USB disk:

Lazesoft Recovery Suite v4.0

The Lazesoft Recovery Suite, version 4.0, is our first major revision for this year and we’re looking forward to exciting things to come in 2015! First, we have made improvements in the appearance a functionality of our program, and fixed several small bugs. Beyond that, our product is more powerful and easier to use than ever.

Recovering data or repairing your operating system when Windows does not boot normally, or has crashed, is always a headache for Windows users, even for more experienced administrators, because a crash of the Windows system has many possible causes. Some hazards include; virus infections, sudden power loss, or an unexpected deletion of a partition. MBR or DBR failures can happen unexpectedly. System, boot, BCD or registry files can suddenly disappear or become corrupted. Sometimes users accidentally format a disk drive that contains important files or data.

data_recovery

Different repair methods may be required for each reason for a computer crash. We at Lazesoft have helped many users to fix their computer’s boot problems with many explanations. In our attempts to lead our clients in fixing their computer errors, we have frequently noticed that, sometimes, they have no idea of what might have gone wrong. We are trying to reduce the need for specialized computer training by adding the simplest possible options for repairing a computer.

Some users have tried to fix or rebuild their MBR, when, actually their BCD was corrupted. Some have tried to rebuild the boot sector on their boot partition, but we found that their real problem was the corrupted registry files.

We at Lazesoft decided to design our product so that users can fix many of their computer errors by clicking just one button. Now, they can repair a variety of problems without needing to know about which function or button should be used. We think that will be welcome news for users at all levels of expertise.

windows_recovery_title

In this new version, we added a new major and important feature, One Click Repair, to the Windows Recovery module of Lazesoft Recovery Suite. This feature allows users to click the new <One Fix Repair> button to fix most common boot problems, and it is available now.

Users at all levels of computer experience, from beginner to expert, will find the new option especially valuable, because it is totally reversible. All operations performed by this function can be cancelled and undone, if necessary. Not only does a user not need to understand the reason for many computer breakdowns or know the complicated steps to solve problems, files that have been deleted because of accidents or the effects of malware can be restored automatically with our new program version.

Accidentally formatted data partitions are one of the most common reasons for data loss. If this happens, a user can recover the ‘lost’ files or data with the least computer training and effort. We have redesigned and streamlined the Lazesoft data recovery wizard, especially the ‘Undelete’ and ‘Unformat’ functions. Enhanced options can help new users to recover their data more quickly and easily. Not only that, we have added new data backup and recovery sessions to the program options.

One if the most important improvements in the new Lazesoft Recovery Suite is its ability to back up or clone a user’s operating system, partitions OR entire disk from within the Windows desktop, as well as in boot disk mode. Because backing up and cloning system volume/disk are often daily operations. The new version of Lazesoft Recovery Suite can back up or clone system volume/disk on a running Windows desktop, with no rebooting of the computer needed.

You can rely on the people at Lazesoft to work hard to make our Lazesoft Recovery Suite as streamlined and efficient as possible!
